Understanding Dental Veneers in Murray
There are two types of veneers our dentists can help with: composite and porcelain veneers. Here’s an overview of the differences between them.
Composite Veneers
Our dentists can use composite resin, which is the same material used for tooth-colored fillings, to restore small cosmetic imperfections through a procedure called dental bonding.
Bonding adds the material to your tooth, eliminating problems like chipped teeth, stains and discoloration, and tooth size discrepancies.
This type of veneer can typically be completed during one visit to our Murray dental office and tends to be less expensive than porcelain veneers.
Porcelain Veneers
These are thin layers of porcelain that cover the front surface of a compromised tooth to change its shade, shape, and size. With porcelain veneers, our dentists can eliminate cosmetic flaws and redesign your smile for a bright, symmetrical, and beautiful look.
Porcelain veneers are created in a trusted dental lab. They require two appointments with our dentists. One visit to prepare your teeth and apply temporary veneers, and another appointment to deliver the final product when the lab is done. The entire process takes two to three weeks to complete.
