Dr. Mark Arnett
With over 25 years of experience serving the Murray community, Dr. Mark Arnett has built Arnett Dental Care on a foundation of compassion, creativity, and clinical excellence. Since 1997, Dr. Arnett has been transforming smiles and lives, bringing both artistry and technical skill to every patient interaction.
What drives Dr. Arnett's passion for dentistry is the creative challenge it presents. "I loved the creative aspect of dentistry," he explains. "I enjoy working with patients who think their dental situation is hopeless and embarrassing and giving them a functional and beautiful smile that they thought would have never been possible. It's very gratifying and can be life changing." This combination of problem-solving and artistry allows him to turn less-than-ideal situations into beautiful, functional results.
Dr. Arnett takes special pride in making dental visits comfortable for apprehensive patients. One of his favorite aspects of the job is seeing an anxious adult leave the office having had a much more comfortable and enjoyable experience than they ever anticipated. This patient-first approach has made Arnett Dental Care a trusted name in Murray for decades.
Dr. Arnett's creativity extends far beyond the dental chair. An avid outdoorsman, he finds inspiration and peace in nature, whether he's working on his farm or exploring the outdoors. He describes himself as always being in awe of the many miracles in nature.
As a hobbyist woodworker, Dr. Arnett loves building things from inspiration. His most ambitious project to date? A fully functioning and livable treehouse that he built without any plans or drawings, creating it day by day as inspiration struck. Dr. Arnett is also a dedicated wild turkey hunter, which he describes as one of the greatest challenges for any outdoorsman.
Dr. Robert Pruitt
Dr. Robert Pruitt brings energy, enthusiasm, and a personalized approach to patient care at Arnett Dental Care. A proud Murray native and Calloway County High School graduate, Dr. Pruitt discovered his passion for dentistry while shadowing Dr. Arnett and a local oral surgeon. He was immediately drawn to how dentistry uniquely blends science with hands-on skills, offering the perfect combination of intellectual challenge and practical artistry.
Since joining the practice in 2022, Dr. Pruitt has embraced what he loves most about dentistry: the variety and individuality of each patient interaction. "Every day is something new, every patient is different," he explains. "I enjoy helping each patient individually in whatever way serves them best, whether that's getting them out of pain or changing their entire smile and giving them confidence." This philosophy of personalized, patient-centered care ensures that every person who sits in his chair receives treatment tailored to their specific needs and goals.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Pruitt maintains an active and well-rounded lifestyle. He's a passionate Tennessee Titans fan who enjoys both watching games and attending them in person. His other interests include hunting, staying fit through regular workouts, and traveling to explore new places and experiences.
Dr. Pruitt has a unique hobby that showcases his technical side: building custom PCs. This hands-on interest in technology complements his dental work, as both require precision, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
At home, Dr. Pruitt shares his life with two four-legged companions—Tito, a French Bulldog, and Henry, a Boston Terrier—who keep him entertained and grounded when he's not at the office.
Marla Overby
Registered Dental Hygienist
Marla Overby is a cornerstone of Arnett Dental Care, bringing 25 years of experience and genuine care to every patient interaction. Since beginning her career in dentistry in 2000, Marla has been dedicated to this practice, starting with the original owner and continuing to serve the Murray community with the same enthusiasm and commitment she had on day one.
What Marla loves most about her work is the human connection. "My favorite thing about working with patients is using humor to ease the anxiety of those who are nervous and gaining a sense of trust," she explains. "I also enjoy getting to know so many people from all walks of life personally." Over her 25 years at the practice, Marla has built lasting relationships with patients, many of whom she's cared for across multiple generations.
Marla was drawn to dental hygiene because she loved the idea of improving people's lives in a meaningful way while pursuing a career that could travel with her anywhere. That commitment to making a difference shows in every cleaning, every conversation, and every patient she serves.
When she's not caring for patients, Marla enjoys nurturing life both in the garden and in the kitchen. She's an avid gardener who loves watching plants grow and flourish, and she channels that same care and creativity into baking delicious treats.
Marla has a unique passion for collecting cookbooks, and she loves the thrill of thrifting to find hidden gems to add to her ever-growing collection. Each cookbook represents new recipes to try, new techniques to master, and new ways to bring joy to others through food.
Leslie Winstead
Insurance Coordinator
Leslie Winstead is the welcoming voice and friendly face that greets you at Arnett Dental Care. With nearly 29 years of experience at the practice since 1997, Leslie has become an invaluable part of the team and a beloved fixture in the Murray dental community. Her longevity speaks volumes about her dedication—she originally applied for a dental assistant position, fell in love with the staff and doctors, and has been here ever since.
Leslie's journey at Arnett Dental Care showcases her versatility and commitment. She spent 17 years working as a dental assistant before transitioning to the front office, where she now handles scheduling, billing, and insurance questions. This unique background gives her a comprehensive understanding of every aspect of patient care, making her an exceptional resource for answering questions and addressing concerns.
What Leslie treasures most about her role is the relationships she's built over the years. "I love getting to know our patients and their families. Keeping up with them through the years, watching their children grow and all the things going on in their lives," she shares. As the person who schedules your appointment and helps with financial or insurance questions, Leslie ensures every interaction is warm, helpful, and personal.
Outside of work, Leslie enjoys activities that keep both her mind and body engaged. She loves working on puzzles, finding satisfaction in piecing together challenging designs. Recently, she's taken up pickleball, embracing the fun and social aspects of this popular sport.
When she needs to truly unwind, Leslie's happy place is relaxing on the beach, soaking in the sun and ocean air. Her love of movement and rhythm extends back to her childhood—she studied ballet, tap, and jazz as a child and teen. A few years ago, Leslie reconnected with her passion by taking an adult tap class, proving it's never too late to revisit the things that bring us joy.
Ashlyn Russell
Dental Assistant
Ashlyn Russell has been an integral part of the Arnett Dental Care team since September 2018, bringing warmth, professionalism, and genuine care to every patient interaction. Her deep roots in the Murray community—she even grew up playing basketball with Dr. Arnett's daughter—have helped her create meaningful connections with patients and their families.
What Ashlyn loves most about her role is building personal relationships that go beyond the dental chair. "I love getting to know our patients and their families and it becoming more of a personal relationship rather than just a patient," she explains. This approach transforms routine dental visits into opportunities for connection, making patients feel like part of the Arnett Dental Care family.
Ashlyn's path to dental assisting was both practical and personal. She wanted to work in the medical field but desired a more family-friendly schedule that would allow her to balance her career with her personal life. Interestingly, her childhood fascination with losing and pulling her own teeth pointed her toward dentistry—making it a perfect fit for her unique interests and professional goals.
When she's not assisting patients, Ashlyn enjoys shopping and thrifting, always on the lookout for unique finds and treasures. Her creative side shines through in her passion for holiday decorating—she loves transforming spaces for both Halloween and Christmas, bringing seasonal magic to her home.
Mindy Hall
Dental Assistant
Mindy Hall brings over 27 years of dental experience and a heart full of compassion to Arnett Dental Care. Since joining the practice in January 2024, she has quickly become an essential part of the team, contributing to the family-like atmosphere that makes the office so special. Her extensive background in dentistry, which began in 1998, gives her the expertise and confidence to provide exceptional care to every patient.
What Mindy loves most about her work is seeing the transformative impact of a beautiful smile. "My favorite thing is helping our patients feel confident about their new smile," she shares. This passion stems from her original motivation for entering dentistry—wanting a career where she could improve patients' self-esteem and confidence through better oral health. For Mindy, dentistry isn't just about teeth; it's about changing lives.
Mindy treasures the strong sense of teamwork at Arnett Dental Care. "I love that our office feels like a family. We have great teamwork here and always help each other to keep our office running smooth," she explains. Her approach to work is guided by her faith—she loves showing kindness and compassion in everything she does, seeing her job as a way to serve others and live out her values daily.
Family and faith are at the center of Mindy's life outside the dental office. She cherishes time spent with her family and church family, finding joy and purpose in these meaningful connections. One of her favorite ways to spend time is Jeep riding and relaxing by the pool with her sweet granddaughters, creating precious memories together.
Mindy has a talent for organization and creativity—she loves to organize spaces, shop for finds, and work on crafts. These hobbies reflect her attention to detail and creative spirit, qualities that serve her well in creating beautiful smiles for patients.
